How facial fat grafting works
Four stages — from the initial assessment to the follow-up check. You’ll know in advance how the preparation, surgery, and recovery unfold.

Preliminary assessment by the doctor
Send photos and describe the changes you’d like. The doctor will assess your anatomy and the possible scope of correction. An online consultation with the doctor is also available.

Consultation and preparation in Istanbul
Before surgery, you’ll have an in-person consultation with the doctor and the necessary preoperative workup — its scope depends on the type of surgery and anesthesia.
Preparation and tests
At the consultation, the doctor assesses which areas of the face have lost volume, marks the areas to be treated, and selects the donor site from which fat will be taken — usually the thighs or abdomen.
Before the procedure, tests are done at the clinic and you meet with the anesthesiologist. Let the doctor know in advance about any chronic conditions, medications you take, and past surgeries — this helps plan the procedure safely.

Surgery
Facial fat grafting is performed under local or general anesthesia. Its length depends on the number of areas and the extent of the treatment — the doctor will tell you after the examination. Under local anesthesia no hospital stay is needed — after the procedure you return to your hotel.
During the surgery
Fat harvesting
Using mini-liposuction with special cannulas, fat is taken from the areas where it is most abundant — usually the thighs or abdomen.
Preparation
The harvested fatty tissue is specially processed in a medical centrifuge.
Injection
The purified fatty tissue is injected through micro-punctures into the facial areas marked beforehand.
Fat grafting can be performed in several areas: the lips — restoring volume and refining shape; the area around the eyes — correcting age-related changes; the nasolabial folds — filling the creases from the sides of the nose to the corners of the mouth; the cheekbones — shaping higher, or conversely softer and rounder, contours. Although fat injection is often considered a non-surgical procedure, it carries its own risks, so it is important to have it done by an experienced plastic surgeon after a detailed consultation.

Recovery
Recovery takes place at your hotel, and the assistants stay in touch with you. Before you leave, the doctor performs a follow-up check.

Risks
Like any procedure, facial fat grafting carries possible risks, including swelling, bruising, infection, asymmetry, contour irregularities, partial resorption of the grafted fat, and other individual reactions. In some cases, an additional correction may be needed. The possible risks are discussed with the patient before the procedure.
Contraindications
Acute illnesses and inflammatory conditions, blood-clotting disorders, pregnancy, breastfeeding, and certain chronic conditions may be grounds for postponing the procedure or carrying out further testing. The decision on whether it can be performed is made by the doctors after assessing the patient’s health.

The cost is calculated individually. The doctor provides it after reviewing your photos. Send them on WhatsApp — you’ll receive a plan and the full price.
When will the swelling go down?
Swelling and bruising in the injection and harvesting areas are an expected reaction. How quickly they subside depends on the extent of the correction; the doctor monitors your progress at the follow-up check.
Will there be visible marks?
The fat is harvested with special cannulas and injected through micro-punctures. The doctor will explain how these heal in your case during the consultation.
When can I return to work and sports?
Timing is individual and depends on how your recovery goes. The doctor will give you personal recommendations at the follow-up check and will stay in touch with you after you return home.
Where is the fat taken from?
From the areas where it is most abundant — usually the thighs or abdomen. The doctor chooses the donor area during the consultation.
How many days do I need to be in Istanbul?
Under local anesthesia, 2–3 days in Istanbul are enough — no hospital stay is needed. If the procedure is done under general anesthesia, we recommend 7–8 days. The coordinator will agree exact dates with you after the doctor’s preliminary assessment.
When can I fly home?
After the follow-up check: under local anesthesia after 2–3 days, under general anesthesia on day 7. The doctor clears you to go home once he’s confident your recovery is on track.
