How breast reduction works
Four stages — from the initial assessment to the follow-up check. You’ll know in advance how the preparation, surgery, and recovery unfold.

Send photos and describe the changes you’d like. The doctor will assess your anatomy and the possible scope of correction. An online consultation with the doctor is also available.

Consultation and preparation in Istanbul
Before surgery, you’ll have an in-person consultation with the doctor and the necessary preoperative workup — its scope depends on the type of surgery and anesthesia.
Preparation and tests
During the consultation, the doctor assesses the volume and shape of the breasts and the condition of the skin, and discusses your desired size with you.
Before surgery, you'll have lab tests and a consultation with the anesthesiologist. If you take any medications or have chronic conditions, please let us know in advance — the doctor will give you personalized guidance on how to prepare.

Surgery
During surgery, the doctor removes excess volume, lifts the skin, and reduces the size of the areola. The surgery takes about 2 hours — approximately, depending on the scope of the surgery and individual factors. The type of anesthesia will be discussed with you in advance. After surgery, you’ll stay one night at the clinic under medical supervision.
During the surgery
Under the weight of a large breast, the tissue stretches over time. That's why reducing volume almost always goes together with a skin lift and reshaping of the areola — this makes it possible to remove excess tissue and create a neat, proportionate shape.

Recovery
Discomfort in the early period is usually mild. On day 3 you'll have a dressing change, and after discharge your recovery continues at the hotel while our assistants stay in touch with you.

7The final check before you leave. By this point any drains that were placed have already been removed, dressings have been changed and stitches taken out. The doctor makes sure that healing is going normally and there are no signs of complications.

Risks and contraindicationsPatient safety is the priority at every stage. Before the procedure, the doctor assesses the patient’s health.
Risks
Like any surgical procedure, breast reduction carries possible risks, including bleeding, infection, swelling, delayed wound healing, temporary changes in the sensitivity of the areola and skin, asymmetry, and how scars form. In some cases, additional correction may be needed. The possible risks are discussed with the patient before surgery.
Contraindications
Acute illnesses and inflammatory conditions, blood-clotting disorders, pregnancy, breastfeeding, and certain chronic conditions may be grounds for postponing surgery or performing additional evaluation. The decision on whether surgery can proceed is made by the doctors after assessing the patient’s health.

The cost is calculated individually. The doctor provides it after reviewing your photos. Send them on WhatsApp — you’ll receive a plan and the full price.
Is it painful after surgery?
Discomfort in the early recovery period is usually mild.
Will the scars be visible?
Because the surgery includes a skin lift and areola correction, scars remain on the breasts. The doctor will discuss their placement and how they change over time during the consultation.
When can I return to work and sports?
Timing is individual and depends on how your recovery goes. The doctor will give you personal recommendations at the follow-up check and will stay in touch with you after you return home.
How long do I wear the special bra?
6 weeks after surgery. One special bra is included in the package.
How many days do I need to be in Istanbul?
For surgeries under general anesthesia we recommend 7–8 days in Istanbul — from arrival to the follow-up check; under local anesthesia, 2–3 days. The coordinator will agree exact dates with you after the doctor’s preliminary assessment.
When can I fly home?
After the follow-up check on day 7. The doctor clears you to go home once he’s confident your recovery is on track.
