Buttock fat grafting in Istanbul
Refining the shape and volume of the buttocks using the patient’s own fat — with an emphasis on natural body proportions.
What it can do: Restoring volume and refining the shape of the buttocks, smoothing asymmetry and transitions; at the same time reducing localized fat deposits in the harvesting area.

How buttock fat grafting works
Four stages — from the initial assessment to the follow-up check. You’ll know in advance how the preparation, surgery, and recovery unfold.
- 1
Preliminary assessment by the doctor
Send photos and describe the changes you’d like. The doctor will assess your anatomy and the possible scope of correction. An online consultation with the doctor is also available.
- 2
Consultation and preparation in Istanbul
Before surgery, you’ll have an in-person consultation with the doctor and the necessary preoperative workup — its scope depends on the type of surgery and anesthesia.
Preparation and tests
Before your trip, the coordinator will send a short list: which medications to stop in advance, what to bring, and how to prepare for the flight.
In Istanbul, before surgery, you’ll have blood tests, an ECG, and a consultation with the anesthesiologist. The doctor examines the buttocks and the possible harvesting areas, and together you agree on the surgical plan. If the test results suggest it’s better to postpone the surgery, you’ll know in advance.

Surgery
First, the doctor harvests fat by liposuction through small punctures, then prepares it and injects it into the buttock area. The duration and type of anesthesia depend on the extent of the correction — the doctor will specify them after the examination. After surgery, the patient stays overnight in the clinic under medical supervision.
During the surgery
Fat harvesting
The fat is harvested by liposuction: through small punctures with thin cannulas from areas with localized deposits — for example, the abdomen, flanks, or thighs.
Injection
The prepared fat is injected into the buttocks in small portions, building up volume and contour.
Some of the transferred fat may be reabsorbed in the first few months — this is accounted for during planning. Which areas the fat is taken from and how much is possible in your case, the doctor will tell you after an examination.

Recovery
After discharge, recovery continues at your hotel, and the assistants stay in touch with you. On day 7, the doctor performs a follow-up check.
Recovery day by day
0After surgery — one night at the clinic under medical supervision.
1An examination before discharge and transfer to the hotel. Swelling, bruising, and a feeling of tightness can be a normal part of recovery after surgery.
2–6Recovery at the hotel and following the doctor’s guidance: how to sit, sleep, and wear the compression garment — the doctor will explain this before discharge.
7The final check before you leave. By this point any drains that were placed have already been removed, dressings have been changed and stitches taken out. The doctor makes sure that healing is going normally and there are no signs of complications.
Beyond thatVolume and shape settle gradually. Scheduled photo check-ins allow the doctor to follow how your recovery is progressing.
Risks and contraindicationsPatient safety is the priority at every stage. Before the procedure, the doctor assesses the patient’s health.
Risks
As with any surgical procedure, buttock fat grafting carries potential risks, including bleeding, infection, swelling, contour irregularities, asymmetry, partial reabsorption of the transferred fat, and other individual reactions, and in rare cases serious complications. In some cases an additional correction may be needed. The possible risks are discussed with the patient before surgery.
Contraindications
Acute illnesses and inflammatory conditions, blood-clotting disorders, pregnancy, breastfeeding, and certain chronic conditions may be grounds for postponing surgery or for further evaluation. The decision on whether surgery can proceed is made by the doctors after assessing the patient’s health.

Questions and answers
Ask a question →How much does the surgery cost?
The cost is calculated individually. The doctor provides it after reviewing your photos. Send them on WhatsApp — you’ll receive a plan and the full price.
Will all of the fat survive?
Some of the transferred fat may be reabsorbed in the first few months — this is accounted for during planning. The final volume isn’t visible right away; the doctor follows it through photo check-ins.
Where is the fat taken from?
From areas with local fat deposits — most often the abdomen, flanks, or thighs. If there isn’t enough of your own fat, the doctor will tell you in advance and suggest other options.
When can I return to work and sports?
Timing is individual and depends on how your recovery goes. The doctor will give you personal recommendations at the follow-up check and will stay in touch with you after you return home.
How does fat grafting differ from a buttock lift?
Fat grafting adds volume and reshapes using your own fat. A lift removes excess skin and tissue. Sometimes the two are combined — the doctor will tell you what suits you after an examination.
How many days do I need to be in Istanbul?
For surgeries under general anesthesia we recommend 7–8 days in Istanbul — from arrival to the follow-up check; under local anesthesia, 2–3 days. The coordinator will agree exact dates with you after the doctor’s preliminary assessment.
When can I fly home?
After the follow-up check on day 7. The doctor clears you to go home once he’s confident your recovery is on track.
