How a breast lift works
Four stages — from the initial assessment to the follow-up check. You’ll know in advance how the preparation, surgery, and recovery unfold.

Send photos and describe the changes you’d like. The doctor will assess your anatomy and the possible scope of correction. An online consultation with the doctor is also available.

Consultation and preparation in Istanbul
Before surgery, you’ll have an in-person consultation with the doctor and the necessary preoperative workup — its scope depends on the type of surgery and anesthesia.
Preparation and tests
At the consultation, the doctor assesses the degree of breast sagging, the condition of your skin, and discusses your wishes — including whether an implant is also needed to add volume.
Before surgery, you’ll have tests and a consultation with the anesthesiologist. Healing time is affected by age, underlying conditions, and habits, so let the doctor know in advance about any medications you take, chronic conditions, and smoking.

Surgery
A breast lift takes about 2 hours — approximately, depending on the scope of the surgery and individual factors. During the operation, excess skin is removed and the breast is given a new shape. After surgery, the patient stays one night in the clinic under medical supervision.
During the surgery
The essence of mastopexy is removing excess skin and creating a new, higher breast shape.
If the patient wishes, the lift can be combined with placing an implant. This adds breast volume and fills the upper pole. In that case, the surgical plan and implant selection are discussed with the doctor separately.

Recovery
After discharge, recovery continues at the hotel, and the assistants stay in touch with you. For the first 3 days the breasts are covered with dressings; once they’re removed you can shower, and a special bra is worn for 6 weeks.

Risks and contraindicationsPatient safety is the priority at every stage. Before the procedure, the doctor assesses the patient’s health.
Risks
As with any surgical procedure, a breast lift carries possible risks, including bleeding, infection, swelling, delayed wound healing, temporary changes in sensation, asymmetry, and variations in how scars form. In some cases, additional correction may be needed. The possible risks are discussed with the patient before surgery.
Contraindications
Acute illnesses and inflammatory conditions, blood-clotting disorders, pregnancy, breastfeeding, and certain chronic conditions may be grounds for postponing surgery or performing additional evaluation. The decision on whether surgery can proceed is made by the doctors after assessing the patient’s health.

The cost is calculated individually. The doctor provides it after reviewing your photos. Send them on WhatsApp — you’ll receive a plan and the full price.
Is it painful after surgery?
After a breast lift, significant pain is usually absent. If implants are placed at the same time, some pain may be felt — the doctor will prescribe pain relief.
Will the scars be visible?
Scars after a breast lift gradually fade and become significantly less visible over 6–12 mo.
When can I return to work and sports?
Timing is individual and depends on how your recovery goes. The doctor will give you personal recommendations at the follow-up check and will stay in touch with you after you return home.
Can a lift be combined with augmentation?
Yes, if the patient wishes, the lift can be combined with placing an implant — this adds volume and fills the upper pole of the breast.
How many days do I need to be in Istanbul?
For surgeries under general anesthesia we recommend 7–8 days in Istanbul — from arrival to the follow-up check; under local anesthesia, 2–3 days. The coordinator will agree exact dates with you after the doctor’s preliminary assessment.
When can I fly home?
After the follow-up check on day 7. The doctor clears you to go home once he’s confident your recovery is on track.
