How endoscopic facial procedures work

Consultation and preparation in Istanbul
Before surgery, you’ll have an in-person consultation with the doctor and the necessary preoperative workup — its scope depends on the type of surgery and anesthesia.
Preparation and tests
At the consultation, the doctor assesses the position of the brows, the temple area, the outer corner of the eye and the midface, and discusses with you what you would like to change. The doctor determines the plan and the suitable technique at the consultation.
Before surgery, a pre-operative evaluation and lab tests are carried out at the clinic. Let the doctor know in advance about any chronic conditions, medications you take, and past surgeries — this helps plan the procedure safely.

Surgery
Endoscopic procedures are performed through small incisions using an endoscope — a thin instrument with a camera. The type of anesthesia, the duration of surgery and whether a night in the clinic is needed depend on the technique — the doctor will confirm them at the consultation.
During the surgery
This group includes four types of endoscopic procedures:
Brow lift
Correction of the brow position.
Temporal lift
Correction of the temple area and the outer part of the brow.
Canthopexy
Supporting the position of the outer corner of the eye.
Midface lift
Correction of the midface and cheekbone area.

Recovery and the timing of follow-up examinations depend on the chosen technique — the doctor will explain what to expect at the consultation. The team stays in touch with you.
Risks and suitability for surgeryPatient safety is the main priority in planning surgery. Every surgical procedure carries certain risks. These risks vary depending on the type and extent of the surgery and on the patient's health.
Possible risks
Bleeding, infection, fluid collection, delayed wound healing, a noticeable scar, changes in sensation and asymmetry may occur. Complications related to anesthesia and the formation of blood clots in the blood vessels are also possible. In some cases, additional treatment or revision surgery may be needed. Risks specific to the procedure are explained in detail before surgery.
Assessment of suitability for surgery
Before surgery, your existing medical conditions, the medications you take, allergies, previous surgeries and smoking are assessed. Active infections, uncontrolled chronic diseases and bleeding or clotting disorders may require additional tests, a specialist's opinion or postponement of surgery. During pregnancy and breastfeeding, it is preferable to postpone aesthetic surgery.

It depends on the technique and the type of anesthesia — the doctor will confirm the timing at the consultation. The coordinator will agree the exact dates after the doctor's preliminary assessment.
When can I fly home?
After the follow-up examination. The doctor lets you fly home once they are sure your recovery is going as it should.
